ADO Den Haag’s relegation fears increased on Sunday after a 4-0 defeat at AZ Alkmaar.

The home side got off to the perfect start with Alireza Jahanbakhsh heading into the path of Dabney Dos Santos and the winger slotted past Robert Zwinkels on seven minutes.

Less than six minutes later Dos Santos doubled the lead with a tap-in from Stijn Wuytens. Before the break the match was sealed in spectacular fashion as Joris van Overeem chipped the ball delightfully over Zwinkels for AZ’s third.

Fred Friday added a fourth on the hour mark from close range to rub salt in the ADO Den Haag wounds. The victory lifts AZ to fifth, while ADO Den Haag remain 17th and only two points off bottom.
