AZ Alkmaar have officially presented John van den Brom as their new head coach on a two-year-deal.

AZ announced on Friday evening that they had reached a verbal agreement with the former Anderlecht coach to replace Marco van Basten, who stepped down from his role two weeks ago to become an assistant at the club. but the deal was only confirmed today.
Speaking to the official AZ site Van den Brom said, “I’m going to work at a very nice club”
“The overall picture is correct. AZ is a club that compete for the top places. With Marco van Basten and Dennis Her there, we have an excellent technical staff, with experience in many areas.”
“On Saturday, the team has made a good impression on me during the away match against ADO Den Haag. Thats something we can elaborate on in the coming weeks.”
Van den Brom will take charge of his first match on Sunday against FC Twente, with a trip to league leaders PSV a week later.
