AZ Alkmaar have announced the signing of Heracles attacking midfielder Illias Bel Hassani on a five-year deal.

The club needed a new midfielder with Markus Henriksen set to sign for Hull City and with Bel Hassani they have found the Norwegian’s replacement. The 23-year-old underwent his medical in Alkmaar on Wednesday before signing his contract until 2021.
Bel Hassani started his career with Sparta Rotterdam before joining Heracles in 2013. Over the past three years, the midfielder has made 99 league appearances in Almelo, scoring 15 goals. He was the star man for the club last season as they qualified for the Europa League scoring eight times and adding four assists.
At AZ, Bel Hassani will be reunited with Wout Weghorst, who also joined the club from Heracles this summer.
