AZ Alkmaar have confirmed the signing of Jordy Clasie on a two-year deal with the option for a third.

AZ Alkmaar do not have to pay a transfer fee for the midfielder, who has had his contract with Southampton dissolved.
The 28-year-old still had one year left on his deal in England but had no chance of playing time in the Premier League. He spent last season back on loan with Feyenoord, but the Rotterdammers weren’t interested in a permanent deal.
Clasie is the second signing of the summer for AZ after right-back Yukinara Sugawara.
AZ technical director Max Huiberts told the clubs website that the midfielder is not yet ready for action, “So far he has not done a full preparation. But when I see him like that, it won’t be long before Jordy is top fit. The sooner he can be deployed, the better. But we are not going to rush it. Nobody will be helped if he gets injured because we brought him too quickly. ”
Good signing for AZ especially with losing Maher who I’m huge fan off. Jordi has plenty of experience 28 so still has years in him & should be good addition to AZ. Hopefully his experience will help others time Til Stengs, Badou, Idrissi & others especially maybe not to make the move away to earlier.
Smart signing sure their not done but I’m excited for Badou especially looked great last season he could really kick on this seaosn.
