AZ Alkmaar are into the last four of the KNVB Cup after a 2-0 victory over Vitesse Arnhem.

AZ Alkmaar dominated the quarter-final from the start and went close through Mats Seuntjens and Oussama Idrissi in the opening 20 minutes.

In the 40th minute, the breakthrough was made when Jonas Svensson cut the ball back to Calvin Stengs, who guided an excellent first-time finish into the top corner. It was the second excellent goal in two games for the winger, who is starting to make a big impression after his lengthy injury lay-off.

Nine minutes after the break it was 2-0 when an Idrissi ball wasn’t cleared and landed at the feet of Guus Til, who drove forward before firing past Eduardo.

Vitesse couldn’t respond and AZ comfortably saw out the match to book their place in the last four.
