AZ Alkmaar have recorded their first win of the season after a late Alireza Jahanbakhsh strike saw them beat Utrecht 2-1.

John van den Brom went with the same side that recorded a 3-0 win over Vojvodina in the Europa League on Thursday and they were the better team in the first half. Jahanbakhsh and Levi Garcia had early chances before Markus Henriksen opened the scoring with a lovely curled effort into the far corner.
Seven minutes into the second half Utrecht equalised with Patrick Joosten cutting inside before smashing a strike past Sergio Rochet. The home side then threw on Richairo Zivkovic for his debut as they searched for the winning goal, but instead it was AZ who came away with all three points. With six minutes to go Jahanbakhsh fired a deflected strike into the bottom corner from just outside the box.
The margin of victory could have been larger for AZ before the end but Haps smashed a shot off the crossbar, while Wout Weghorst could only fire straight at Robbin Ruiter from a favourable position.
The victory lifts AZ up the table, while its now three games without a win for Utrecht.
