Free agent Ryan Babel is closing in on a move to La Liga side Deportivo la Coruna with a medical booked for Thursday.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after terminating his contract with Al Ain last week and Deportivo have announced that Babel will undergo a medical with the club on Thursday after arriving in A Coruna.
Babel has been training with Jong Ajax since last week to keep his fitness but any chance of signing for his former side have now been all but ended as Deportivo close in on his signing.
Babel, who has 43 caps for Netherlands, started his career with Ajax before spells with Liverpool, Hoffenheim, and Kasimpasa before joining Al-Ain last year.
