A first half goal from Lewis Baker was enough for Vitesse to come away from Roda JC with a 1-0 victory.

The home side created the first chance of the game with Eloy Room denying Adil Auassar from close range, but after fifteen minutes Vitesse took control. Kelvin Leerdam went close with a header before Lewis Baker opened the scoring on 23 minutes after Roda JC’s defence misjudged a long ball forward.
Mikhail Rosheuvel tested Room with a fierce strike early in the second half, while at the other end Ricky van Wolfswinkel came close to netting his third of the season, but Benjamin van Leer made a fine save. The home side rallied towards the end looking for the equaliser, as Auassar came close with a free kick before Nestoras Mytides registered an early contender for miss of the season by hitting the post from point blank range.
The win puts Vitesse up to the top six, while Roda JC taste defeat for the first time this season.
