Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde is hoping that Jasper Cillessen decides to remain at the club this summer.

The Dutch international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer as he searches for regular first-team football.

Cillessen featured in Barcelona’s 1-0 loss to AC Milan in a friendly and when asked by the press afterwards if he would stay at Barcelona he responded, “I don’t know.”

However, Ernesto Valverde made his feelings clear during a press conference, “My idea is to have two good goalkeepers, the two we have now, Marc and Jasper.

“It’s true that [Cillessen has] not played as much as Marc, but that’s what being a goalkeeper can be like.

“He knows what I think. I don’t think he will be hard work if he stays – we are very happy with his professionalism and his attitude. We hope he stays with us and is happy here.”

Cillessen has been linked with Chelsea, Roma, Napoli and Liverpool so far this summer.
