Dost said on the move, ”It has been a really hectic few days. It was unclear if I would play in the away game at Augsburg but that turned out to be the case. I thought that I would travel onto Portugal afterwards but I also had to focus on the game but luckilly things turned out well.

”In the summer when I returned to the club I knew that I wanted a new challenge. I was not sure if Portugal would be my destination because there are lots of factors in a transfer but Sporting Lisbon excited me and they were really convincing during the talks that they wanted me and that gave me a great feeling.

”I played 4 years with Wolfsburg and it was a period full of up’s and down’s and I knew that they were planning to buy a striker ( which turned out to be Mario Gomez ) and you know that in such a case that the player will play regularly that is when I knew that I will not play here anymore.

”I had contact with Ajax but then I did not hear anything from them so I did not have to think about that a lot . I watched the game between Sporing Lisbon and FC Porto and I was really impressed and I really enjoyed the game. Bryan Ruiz plays around the striker and he gives great passes and crosses and they also have two wingers that give great service and that is my kind of football.

” I am really looking forward to my new adventure and I hope that it will be positive but that is up to me of course. I can’t wait to get going and play every week.”
