According to Bild, Bayer Leverkusen are hoping to sign Ajax defender Nick Viergever.

The 27-year-old was an ever-present for Ajax last season at either centre-back or on the left of defence, but only has one-year left on his contract in Amsterdam.
Bayer Leverkusen are coming off a poor Bundesliga campaign and are looking for defensive recruits ahead of next season. According to Bild, the German club wants to sign Viergever who they value at €5 million.
With Kenny Tete leaving for Lyon, Jairo Riedewald heading to Crystal Palace and Davinson Sanchez and Mitchell Dijks linked with other clubs, new Ajax boss Marcel Keizer is heading for a defensive quandary ahead of the new campaign.
