Riechedly Bazoer has a good feeling about his loan move to Utrecht after a poor spell with Porto.

The midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan at Porto from Wolfsburg but he was demoted to the B team after a fall out with the head coach.

With no chance of playing time, Bazoer’s loan was cancelled with Porto and he has joined Utrecht until the end of the season.

Speaking to the Utrecht website on his first day training with his new side, the 22-year-old explained why he chose the Cathedral City, “I was born and raised in Utrecht, it is my city. My parents live there, FC Utrecht is a nice club, a good team. So I thought: why not?”

Bazoer believes he can help Utrecht challenge for the top three, “This team has very good players.¬†Utrecht is now fourth and that is a good position. We should not look ahead too quickly, but we can still participate at the top. “
