According to several reports, a consortium featuring Dutch legends Ronald Koeman, Dennis Bergkamp and Dirk Kuyt has failed with a takeover bid of Wycombe Wanderers.

The English League one side is currently owned by 800 of the club’s fans, who reportedly prefer a takeover bid from an American consortium over that of the Dutch legends.

This has been confirmed to The Athletic by Dutch agent Rob Jansen, who is also part of the consortium along with Dennis Bergkamp, Henrik Larsson, Dirk Kuyt and Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman.

The consortium is now reportedly set to turn their attentions elsewhere and remain committed to taking over a club, although which one is unknown with several options being considered.
