Besiktas has turned down the offer and told Flamengo that they want at least €8 million before they will consider selling the Dutch international. Flamengo reportedly has a three-year contract ready for the attacker.

Babel’s agent Winnie Haatrecht confirmed the interest from Brazil to VI, but also stated that his client is happy to remain with Besiktas. He said, When the clubs come out, we will list everything. But Ryan is very happy in Istanbul and has a contract for a year.”

Babel started his career with Ajax and had spells with Liverpool, Hoffenheim, Kasimpasa, Al-Ain and Deportivo La Coruña before he signed with Besiktas in January 2017. The 31-year-old scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 32 league matches last season and his form led to a recall into the Dutch national team. Babel currently has 49 caps.
