blind jdbdbAfter signing from Ajax two weeks ago Daley Blind went straight into the Manchester United starting line-up for their match against QPR on Sunday, with Louis van Gaal placing the 24-year-old in his preferred position as a midfield anchor.

Blind never looked out of place on his Premier League debut and impressively provided a shield in front of the Manchester United defence which was barely troubled by QPR.

Fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie started up front but he was not on the score-sheet despite United running out easy 4-0 winners thanks to goals from Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata.

The win was Louis van Gaal’s first competitive victory since he took charge of the club in the summer, and the former Netherlands boss will have been impressed from what he saw from Blind on his debut.
