Daley Blind has insisted Netherlands are not thinking more than one game ahead as they look to seal the a place at next summer’s European Championships.

Netherlands currently sit third in the group but there is only a three point gap to Germany and Northern Ireland with a game in hand.

On Thursday, Netherlands face Northern Ireland knowing a win would put them top. However, Blind told the pre-game press conference that he is not yet thinking about the tournament next summer.

He said, “I mainly watch from match to match. We are not in the position to float. We must remain humble and not look too far ahead.”

Blind is not taking Northern Ireland lightly, “We will have to be patient and keep up the pace. They will press and we will not get much time, they have shown that against Germany. The table shows that it is an important game, but we will approach the game like any other game. We will have to be at our best and be thoroughly prepared for the competition. ”

Personally, Blind is feeling very confident and comfortable in his form, “I feel good, hopefully I can continue on that line. Sometimes you have those phases in your career that make you feel good. I get a lot of confidence from my fellow players here and at the club.”
