The KNVB announced on Sunday evening that Blind had been sacked after the shock 2-0 defeat against Bulgaria on Saturday which left their World Cup hopes hanging by a thread.
In the statement on the official KNVB website, Danny Blind gave a short reaction and stated his baffling belief that Netherlands were on the right track under his management.
He said, “I believe we were on the right track. The away game against Bulgaria was an incident. It’s a pity that it has ended like this”
Blind has been in charge of Netherlands since 2015, but only won seven out of seventeen games.

Are you kidding me… “Were on the right track”???
Glad he got sacked.
Goodby danny hope nederland play beter without you…and go to russia 2018..
This may be one of the happiest moments of my life! Now to hire someone worth while! Who’s on the block!?
The question is – whose going to sack the KNVB?
Sure we were on the right track to destroy Netherlands. maybe we should wait until Qatar 2022 so you finish the whole generation of the Dutch team.
Go home Mr. Blind and don’t come back
Great news, sacking of Danny Blind. The issue we have is, who’s going to take over the position now. All Dutch fans can forger the 2018 world cup and look at building a team for 2020 euros. KNVB in its current state are a joke. Not until they get their act together, KNVB should use this opportunity to get house in order.
Blind did his best, which is not good enough. Let’s not hate the man. He is not a traitor. Sadly he thinks he is better than he is, but lets not put the boot in. He will be torturing himself after that result, he knows he has let the nation down. No need to treat him like an enemy. Hopefully he can move on and become a great Dutch coach and one day be part of a team that lifts the World cup for us. I’m sure those of us who have been coaches, have had a bad run, but the consequences were not as bad as this.
finally the knvb sacked him it was fault from the beginning to appoint him because he lack experience and is in charge of one of the greatest teams in football history but now KNVB must choose the right person to lead the team in my opinion frank de boer , Cocu , Ronald Koeman are the perfect replacement i hope one of them
Well, I believe there is only one of them without a job right now…
They have fired blind but now will be ready to take up the job of coach bcoz in the current state of things if the team does not qualify for world cup the coach gets sacked due to criticism. Give the next coach the responsibility to rebuild the team and for the longterm
