Van Persie spoke of his frustration at a lack of starts at Fenerbahce two weeks ago, but he once again began the weekends tie with Akhisar on the bench.
The striker now joins up with the Dutch national team as captain due to the absence of Arjen Robben, and coach Danny Blind has acknowledged that Van Persie’s situation in Turkey is not ideal going into the must win games against the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan.
Blind told a press conference, “For him and for us this is not the most ideal situation. You want your players to play. On Thursday he played an entire game against Celtic, but the situation is that one of your main players is not in the starting line-up weekly. ”
Out of his 12 Fenerbahce appearances so far this season, Van Persie has started six on the bench, while he has only completed ninety minutes twice.
I agree so why is Blind playing Van Der Weil? Also he is Ajax biased. Why isn’t Janmaat playing. It doesn’t matter they are history. They will not qualify. Turkey will win one and tie one which will eliminate the Oranje and on the balance of play they don’t deserve a chance. Cheer for them always but our coaching was a complete disaster from after the WC until now. Clean house. Blind is not the successor the Dutch have horrible defenders and the only coach that managed to keep this from becoming exploited is LVG. Whom seems to have the same problem at Man Utd and has failed to figure a way out. In a tournament you can strategize for 5 or 6 gasmnes but over a whole season its much tougher.
Totally Agree !
