The embarrassing 2-0 defeat at Bulgaria on Saturday evening again began calls for Blind to be sacked and the coach appeared to be ready to leave after the game, saying in his press conference,  “I’m not saying I throw down the towel, but I have to think about it. I am incredibly disappointed. ”

However, at the airport on Sunday morning, Blind was defiant, “I do not want to say too much now, but I remain combative. I feel responsibility to the players.

” If the KNVB takes no decision, then I’m still coach on Tuesday.”

Interim KNVB director Jean-Paul Decossaux has confirmed that talks will be held with the coach on Sunday lunchtime, “It seems clear that we need to talk.

“Maybe it is quickly clear, perhaps not. Then we have to take the time. With hasty decisions you have nothing. ”
