Ajax director Marc Overmars confirmed the Danish international’s exit to AD,”He has indicated that he wants to look abroad, and that is fine.”

Boilesen joined Ajax in 2010, making 72 appearances and lifting the Eredivisie trophy four times. This season the Ajax vice captain suffered from not only injury problems, but also a loss of form, which saw him jeered by his own fans at one point.

Ajax have already lined up a replacement for Boilesen with former youth player Mitchell Dijks set to rejoin from Willem II on a three-year-deal.
