Bosz’s name had been linked with the post since Thomas Tuchel was sacked last week, but he was seen as an alternative to Nice coach Lucian Favre.
However, Favre has reportedly rejected the German club and according to several German newspapers including Bild and Kicker, Dortmund’s attention will now turn to Bosz.
Bosz has only been in charge of Ajax for a year, and stated after the Europa League final with Manchester United that he would remain with the club for next season. However, will the 53-year-old be tempted by the chance to take over at a Bundesliga giant?
L’Equipe stated on Friday morning that Feyenoord head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst was set to take over Dortmund, but reports in Germany claim that this is not true.
This will be a blow for Ajax if it happens, as they looked far better this past season than they had for 3 or 4 years previously.
It will be good to see another Dutch coach mananging a top European club competing in the CL, but it’s tough for Ajax. On top of having big clubs poach their players, it’s happening to their coaches as well.
