Bayern Munich won the DFB Pokal on Saturday evening with a 4-2 win over Peter Bosz’s Bayer Leverkusen.

After missing out on the Champions League, Bosz was hoping to cause an upset in the cup final against league winners Bayern Munich. Daley Sinkgraven missed out on the clash, while Joshua Zirkzee was only on the bench for Bayern Munich.

After fifteen minutes, David Alaba gave Bayern Munich the lead with a free-kick before Serge Gnabry quickly added a second. In the second half, Robert Lewandowski made it 3-0 with a little help from Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.

Sven Bender pulled one back for Leverkusen but Lewandowski killed any chance of a comeback by adding a fourth. A stoppage time penalty netted by Kai Havertz was just a consolation.

Zirkzee stayed on the bench for the whole game, but Bayern Munich add the cup to their league title. They still have the Champions League to come next month too.
