Everton have announced that Dutch director of Football Marcel Brands is now on the club’s board.

Brands left his technical director role at PSV for a similar role at Everton in the summer and oversaw the signings of Richarlison, Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne, Kurt Zouma, André Gomes and Bernard, for a total amount of around €98.80 million.

Everton have now announced that Brands has been promoted onto the club’s board and will now have more influence on how the club is run from top to bottom.

Brands will join CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale, chairman Bill Kenwright, vice-chairman Keith Harris, director Jon Woods and financial and commercial director Alexander Ryazantsev in making the key decisions going forward at the Premier League club.

Barrett-Baxendale said in a statement, ‘This appointment ensures that the position of Director of Football gets a more important and prominent place within our structure.’
