Jeffrey Bruma is set to seal a deadline day move from Wolfsburg to Schalke on loan until the end of the season.

The centre-back has suffered with injury issues over the past year and has not made a single Bundesliga appearance so far this season.

On Thursday, Bruma will complete his loan move from Wolfsburg to Schalke, who will have an option to make it permanent in the summer.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, Bruma said, “Schalke is a good, big club with a lot of potential and opportunities for me to grow, it is a great opportunity for me to start again, initially until the summer, and then we look at how we stand. There is an option in the contract for a longer period of time, and if we like it, it may be that we go on with each other for longer.”

At Schalke, the 27-year-old will get Champions League action, but he insists this didn’t play a big role in his decision to join the club. He said, “The fact that they play Champions League has not determined my choice, even though it’s a nice extra, the Champions League is a very nice podium, but that can only be two matches, the most important thing for me is that I’m going to play matches again. at a good level and that opportunity Schalke offers me, which makes me very happy. ”

Bruma, who had spells with Chelsea and PSV before joining Wolfsburg, still has a contract with his parent club until 2021.
