The centre-back suffered the injury in Wolfsburg’s 1-1 draw at Mainz on Saturday and underwent an MRI scan on Monday to determine the damage. The result is that Bruma will spend between three to four weeks on the sidelines.
Bruma told the Wolfsburg website, “It is a pity that I can not help the team in the coming weeks, but I’ve also been lucky. It could have been worse. Now I concentrate on getting fit as quickly as possible. ”
It is now likely that Bruma will miss the Netherlands World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria on the 25th of March, meaning coach Danny Blind is without his first choice defensive pairing as Virgil van Dijk is also recovering from injury.
