Thomas Buitink netted a hat trick for Vitesse Arnhem but ADO Den Haag battled for a 3-3 draw in the Hague.

ADO Den Haag decided to line-up with Lex Immers at the point of their attack, while Vitesse had 18-year-old Thomas Buitink up front. Both strikers played a crucial role in an entertaining game.

After seven minutes, Martin Odegaard’s lose ball was seized on and Immers crossed for Sheraldo Becker to fire ADO Den Haag ahead. However, in the 21st minute, Buitink equalised with a close range finish.

In the 27th minute, Buitink made it 2-1 with a fantastic solo goal but the lead only lasted four minutes before Immers equalised with a header.

Buitink sealed his first-half hat trick two minutes before the break on the rebound after Robert Zwinkels parried a shot into his path.

ADO Den Haag were the better side in the second half and eventually in the 76th minute, Immers sealed a draw for the hosts with a lovely finish from inside the box.

Vitesse threw on Tim Matavz but the returning striker could not find a winner before the end.

Vitesse are still fifth after the win while ADO Den Haag are 13th.
