Phillip Cocu’s side have come under immense pressure from the media after a 2-0 defeat to RKC on Sunday, and once again got off to a poor start as Elvis Manu gave Cambuur the lead within the first two minutes.
PSV dominated the possession but once again looked nervous in the final third as passes went astray near the opponents box. On 38 minutes PSV equalised when a long free kick into the box was missed by Cambuur keeper Leonard Nienhuis, and Jeffrey Bruma headed into an empty net.
After 61 minutes, Elvis Manu was dispossessed in the corner by Luciano Narsingh before the winger sent in a cross for Jurgen Locadia to slot into the net from close range, and put PSV 2-1 up.
Cambuur went searching for the equaliser, and came close on 84 minutes with Karim Rekik having to clear off the line following an effort by Bob Schepers.
PSV held on for a precious three points, which keeps them eight points behind the top four, while Cambuur could move into the bottom three if NEC beat NAC.
What is going on at PSV this year. So disapointing. PSV forever from Ireland
