ADO Den Haag, who were missing sick striker Mike van Duinen, created the first chance but after running onto Aaron Meijers through ball, Michiel Kramer’s shot came back off the crossbar. A minute later it was Cambuur’s turn to smash the woodwork as Bartholomew Ogbeche’s shot from Dejan Meleg clipped the top of the bar before rolling to safety.
Michael Hemmen fired over the bar from close range for Cambuur, but five minutes before the break they took the lead with Ogbeche finding space in the box before teeing up Erik Bakker to fire past Martin Hansen via a deflection.
The visitors came out after half time on top, and they found an equaliser on 53 minutes through Michiel Kramer who raced through the Cambuur defence before rounding Leonard Nienhuis and slotting into the empty net. Two minutes later ADO Den Haag had the lead as a long ball forward was met by Xander Houtkoop, and the winger prodded the ball past a stranded Nienhuis and into the net.
Back came Cambuur though and after Rusnak was tripped in the box, Bakker netted his second from the penalty spot to equalise, and then with ten minutes left Lucas Bijker fired the home side to victory from the edge of the area.
The win moves Cambuur temporarily third, while ADO Den Haag sit 7th.
