De Graafschap and Cambuur have taken the KNVB to court over their decision to deny the club’s promotion.

The KNVB confirmed last Friday that the Eredivisie season was finished and that there would be no relegation or promotion, despite 16 clubs voting in favour of it.

Cambuur and De Graafschap were the two clubs denied by the ruling and they have now taken the KNVB to court. A preliminary injunction has been confirmed for the 8th of May in Utrecht.

A judge will hear from both sides before giving his opinion on the scenario. A final decision is then set to take around two weeks.

It may not be the only legal action taken against the KNVB with Utrecht also annoyed at the decision to not hand them a European spot.
