According to Sky Sports, Spanish side Celta Vigo are in talks with Southampton over a loan deal for Dutch centre-back Wesley Hoedt.

Hoedt has fallen out of favour at the Premier League side and was told by head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl that he is free to leave.

Sky Sports is reporting that Celta Vigo are interested in signing the Dutch international, initially on loan until the end of the season. There would be an option to make it permanent.

Hoedt had spells with AZ Alkmaar and Lazio before joining Southampton in 2017. He has made 45 appearances for the club.

Celta Vigo were also linked with Jairo Riedewald last week. It is unclear whether they have given up on signing the out of favour Crystal Palace defender.
