Dutch goalkeeper Dorus De Vries has had a medical in Glasgow as he closes in on a move from Nottingham Forest to Celtic.

de vriesCeltic boss Brendan Rodgers has been looking for an experienced goalkeeper this summer and has decided on De Vries, with whom he worked with at Swansea City.

De Vries was Nottingham Forest’s player of the season, but indicated to the club that he was keen on joining Celtic and the Championship side have reluctantly allowed him to travel to Glasgow for talks. A medical has now been completed and the deal should be announced soon.

The 35-year-old started his career with Telstar, before spells with ADO Den Haag, Dunfermline Athletic, Swansea City and Wolves before joining Nottingham Forest in 2013.
