The reigning champions strolled to a comfortable 2-0 win, courtesy of a brace by Captain Dani de Wit, but all eyes were fixed on the return of Vaclav Cerny. What should have been a moment to savior for the returning 20-year-old almost ended in acrimony as he avoided a red card for a nasty challenge on goalkeeper Dean Koolhof in the 19th minute.

This was Cerny’s first action since he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in October 2017 in a cup match against ASV De Dijk; he has not played a competitive match since then. His return here was limited to 45 minutes, and South African Leo Thetani replaced him at half time.
