Luuk de Jong found the net but could not prevent Sevilla from losing 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League clash.

Sevilla went into the clash with Luuk de Jong and Karim Rekik both on the bench, but they had the lead early on through Suso.

However, Erling Haaland then took control of the game, firstly setting up Mahmoud Dahoud to equalise. The Norwegian forward then netted twice before the break to make it 3-1.

De Jong came off the bench with half an hour left and the striker pulled one back for Sevilla in the 84th minute. That was to be the final goal of the game and Dortmund take the advantage back to Germany.

Elsewhere, Matthijs de Ligt played the full ninety minutes but he could not prevent Juventus from losing 2-1 at Porto.
