Ajax are in Glasgow on Tuesday for their final Champions League clash of the season against Rangers.

Ajax are not able to qualify for the knockout rounds after the 3-0 loss to Liverpool last week, but they still have work to do in order to seal their Europa League spot.

Rangers are bottom of the group but only three points behind Ajax ahead of their clash on Tuesday. However, Ajax has a cushion as they defeated Rangers 4-0 earlier in the group. Alfred Schreuder’s side needs to avoid a big loss in order to seal third spot.

Ajax had the weekend off from the Eredivisie in order to prepare for the clash, while Rangers defeated Aberdeen 4-1.

Possible Ajax line-up: Pasveer, Rensch, Bassey, Timber, Blind, Grillitsch, Taylor, Klaassen, Tadic, Bergwijn, Brobbey

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has some injury concerns with Kemar Roofe, Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack, Connor Goldson, John Souttar, Tom Lawrence, Filip Helander, and Nnamdi Ofoborh all doubts for the clash. John Lundstrom is suspended.

Possible Rangers line-up: McGregor; Tavernier, King, Davies, Barisic; Sands, Davis; Sakala, Arfield, Kent; Colak

Ajax to end disappointing campaign with a win?

Ajax has been poor in the Champions League this season and will exit the competition with a whimper after big defeats to Napoli and Liverpool.

Liverpool’s struggles in the Premier League have highlighted how poor Ajax have been but they can end the group with a confidence-boosting victory in Scotland.

Van Bronckhorst has some injury concerns at the back and that will mean the Amsterdam side go into the clash as favourites. Ajax needs to show some form and go into the Europa League campaign looking like a side that can go a long way in the competition.

Brian Brobbey will also be keen to impress up front ahead of Louis van Gaal naming his Netherlands World Cup squad.
