PSV are yet to win in the group after losing their opening clash at Arsenal before drawing 2-2 at home to Sevilla. Those results currently leave PSV bottom of the group, but only three points behind top spot.
It is therefore crucial for PSV that they don’t lose on Tuesday in France against a Lens side that defeated Arsenal 2-1 last time out.
PSV are in imperious form in the Eredivisie and they currently sit top of the league after winning nine league games out of nine. Saturday’s 3-1 win over Fortuna Sittard kept them two points clear ahead of a clash with Ajax next weekend.
RC Lens are top of the group but currently struggling in the league and the weekend’s 0-0 draw at Le Harve left them sitting 15th in Ligue 1.

Can PSV come away with an important victory?
PSV are in excellent form in the Eredivisie but we are yet to see that extend to the Champions League. If PSV are to make it to the knockout rounds then the two games against Lens are crucial.
The French side showed how dangerous they can be by beating Arsenal this month and they will be motivated to get a win that would put them within touching distance of the next round.
Defensively, PSV will need to be strong defensively and they will need to combat a ferocious home crowd. If they can keep it tight, then up top, PSV have the weapons to score goals.
A draw would not be a bad result for PSV to take away.
