The 20-year-old has struggled to nail down a starting spot in the Ajax midfield but has impressed whenever called upon by Marcel Keizer. On Sunday, De Jong once against started on the bench, but came on at halftime and set up three goals in the 5-1 victory over Roda JC.

Ajax are hoping to tie down the midfielder with a new contract until 2022, but his lack of starts may tempt De Jong to look elsewhere. According to Voetbal International, Chelsea, Manchester City, Hamburg, Red Bull Leipzig and Bayern Munich are all seriously interested in signing the Netherlands U21 international.
De Jong signed for Ajax from Willem II in 2015 and has so far made 24 appearances for the club, scoring twice and adding seven assists.
Would be a mistake to leave Ajax this early. Players need to be leaving at 23-24 ,not 19-21 years age. I understand that he’s upset he’s not getting playing time, but among the destinations mentioned HSV is the only one where he might get any semblance of playing time. He won’t even be on the bench at any of the other clubs mentioned except maybe Leipzig.
He’d do better to be patient and stay another year or two. No doubt Ziyech will be sold next summer after the World Cup, and when that happens De Jong will surely become a regular starter.
