Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with Bournemouth and Netherlands international centre-back Nathan Ake but Chelsea still hold an advantage.

Chelsea sold Ake to Bournemouth back in 2017 for a fee of £20 million but they included a £40 million buy back clause in the deal.

According to The Athletic, this clause runs out at the end of January, so Chelsea must decide quickly if they want to bring the Dutchman back to the club.

Ake is one of the most sought after defenders in the Premier League with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur both keen on signing the 24-year-old.

Chelsea could decide to sign Ake back for £40 million and then sell him off should Manchester City or Tottenham decide to offer more.
