Chelsea scout Piet de Visser has confirmed that he has watched Sparta Rotterdam wonder-kid Rick van Drongelen.

Reports in the Dutch media last week stated the Premier league club were frequent visitors to Sparta Rotterdam’s matches as they cast their eye over the 17-year-old centre back.
Now speaking to Omroep Zeeland, Piet de Visser confirmed that he has been impressed with Van Drongelen, and that a file has been handed in to Chelsea.
He said, “I have filed a report about Van Drongelen to Chelsea. I think he’s a serious guy who always trains extra hard and shows good mentality. First, he must focus on his spot at Sparta and the Holland under 19s.There he is doing a good job,”
Van Drongelen made his debut in the first team this season, and has played the full ninety minutes in the Eerste Divisie leaders last three games.
