castillo ajaThe departure of Wim Jonk as head of Ajax youth development earlier this season has thrown the future of a number of the club’s top prospects in the air. James Fofana, who is a player in the Ajax u16 squad described the club as a mess earlier this week, and it nows seems Juan Familia Castillo is set to depart for England.

A number of reports in England, including the Daily Mail, believe Chelsea are close to wrapping up a deal for the 16-year-old, who can play in either defence or midfield. Castillo is seen as one of Ajax’s biggest prospects at his age level and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The news will be a big blow to Ajax, who will need to get their academy back in order to stop any other of their big talents moving elsewhere.
