Tahith Chong turned down a move to Feyenoord or PSV Eindhoven this summer because he believes he will get chances at Manchester United.

The 19-year-old was loan targets for both PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord this summer but Chong rejected the interest.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Chong stated he believes he will get chances at Manchester United this season.

He said, “Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says: keep working hard, your chances will come. That’s nice to hear. There are a few players that have left from Manchester United and I’m now climbing the pecking order.

“It’s always nice to come back to the Netherlands, but in the end I have to do what I find best for myself. That’s why I decided to stay.”

Chong is out of contract in Manchester next summer, “Of course we are talking, but it is still too early to say anything about it. The season is still long and we will see what happens. There are a lot of matches coming up and I will focus on that.”
