The 27-year-old stated after Ajax’s defeat to Rostov on Wednesday that he was travelling to Barcelona to undergo his medical, and that has now been completed with Cillessen taking to his Twitter account to confirm the deal.

Barcelona have paid Ajax €14 million for the Dutch international, who has signed a contract at the Nou Camp until 2021. He could make his debut this weekend with Marc-Andre ter Stegen struggling with an injury ahead of the tie with Athletic Bilbao.
Cillessen joined Ajax in 2011 from NEC Nijmegen and made 141 appearances for the club. Ajax will now look to confirm the loan signing of Tim Krul from Newcastle United as Cillessen’s replacement.
Barcelona are making a big mistake with this keeper. He is just not good enough. I hope he improves there.
