ajax - celticThe Netherlands number one is reportedly Louis van Gaal’s number one target should he lose David De Gea to Real Madrid this summer, but Cillessen has denied any talks with his former national team coach.

Speaking to Amsterdam newspaper Het Parool, Cillessen said, “I’ve read that this weekend I have spoken with Van Gaal,”

“But the last time I did was during the Sports Gala late last year. Also,my management has not heard from United this weekend.”

Cillessen’s comments come a week after his Ajax boss Frank de Boer claimed that the goalkeeper was getting more and more expensive as the close of the transfer window draws closer. However De Boer did also state they would find a huge offer hard to turn down.
