The 21-year-old’s contract at Ajax was up in the summer, and with no sign of a new deal being signed, Club Brugge have swooped to sign the defender on a three and a half year deal.
Denswil has been used sparingly by Ajax boss Frank de Boer this season, making only one appearance in the Eredivisie, and although the Amsterdam club wanted the defender to sign a new deal, he has decided to leave in search of first team football.
The centre back made his debut for Ajax in 2012, and has gone on to make 39 appearances for the club, which included Denswil scoring the opening goal in a 1-1 draw with AC Milan in the Champions League last season.
Club Brugge currently sit 1st in the Belgian league, and Denswil will join fellow Dutchman Ruud Vormer in their squad. Denswil leaving makes it unlikely that fellow Ajax defender Niklas Moisander, who’s contract is also up in the summer, will leave this January.
