On Sunday, Real Betis sacked Quique Setién after a poor end to the campaign which saw the club finish 10th.
Mundo Deportivo reported last week that Phillip Cocu was among the candidates to replace Setien and this has been backed up by Eindhovens Dagblad.
Cocu left PSV Eindhoven last summer for Fenerbahce but was sacked after only six months. He is now looking to get back into work and Real Betis could offer a chance to get his career back on track.
Cocu knows Betis sporting director Lorenzo Serra Ferrer well from their time at Barcelona together and that relationship may help the 48-year-old get the job.
