With Thomas Letsch departing Vitesse to take over at Bochum, the Arnhem club needed to find a replacement and on Monday evening they came with confirmation.
Cocu has signed a contract with Vitesse until mid-2024 and will begin his role on Tuesday. The 51-year-old has a history with Vitesse as he spent five years at the club as a player before he joined PSV Eindhoven. He made 153 appearances for the club as a player.
Cocu won three league titles as head coach of PSV Eindhoven but he did not have success as head coach of Fenerbahce and then Derby County. The former midfielder returns to the Eredivisie and he has a tough task ahead of him as Vitesse sits 14th in the league.
