The KNVB have confirmed that there will be no champion of the 2019/20 Eredivisie season. The European places are handed out on the final positions of the cancelled season.

With the Dutch government stating earlier this week that no professional football will be played in the Netherlands until September, it was assumed that the season would be cancelled.

On Friday, the KNVB had a conference with all the clubs where it was announced that there would be no relegation or promotion. It was then confirmed that there would be no champion for the season.

Ajax and AZ Alkmaar were level on points at the top with the former sitting 1st on goal difference.

The European places have been handed out on the final positions of the season. Ajax go straight into the Champions League, while AZ are into the playoffs. Feyenoord are into the Europa League first round, while PSV Eindhoven and Willem II enter at the preliminary stage.
