The midfielder started the tie on the bench but came on late in the second half as PSV pushed for an equaliser which didn’t come.

Afterwards, Propper said ”We were not good enough tonight. NK Osijek gambled on us making an error which we did and before that we were far too sluggish in our play.

”We have to put this right. I was frustrated to be starting on the bench tonight. But we also have four good midfielders. When I came on a substitute 15 minutes from time we were 1-0 down and I was trying to help force the issue but it didn’t happen.

”We have the return leg next week in Croatia and if we can reach our expected level we should be able to win that game.

”There will be pressure next week and I hope that we will be able to deal with it.”
