According to the Washington Post, DC United are in serious discussions over bringing Nigel de Jong back to the MLS.

The 32-year-old is set to leave Galatasaray after failing to impress in Turkey and the Washington Post are reporting that DC United have approached De Jong about a return to America.

The former Ajax and AC Milan star spent six months with LA Galaxy last year before leaving for Galatasaray in the summer. At DC United, de Jong would be a designated player, which would earn him between $480,625 and $1 million a year.

The MLS transfer window slams shut next week so a deal will need to be agreed swiftly.
