The 27-year-old is set to complete his move from Ajax to Barcelona this week with Cillessen set to replace Manchester City bound Claudio Bravo.
Cillessen is set to become Barcelona’s back up to Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but Ronald de Boer believes the Dutch international can make himself first choice at the Nou Camp.
He said to AS, “In Barcelona you will learn a lot, you can continue to evolve.
“But Cillessen is not a rookie. It takes time and he will certainly pose a tough battle to Ter Stegen.”
Barcelona have agreed a €14 million fee for Cillessen, who will sign a five year contract in Spain after Ajax’s Champions League tie against Russian side Rostov on Wednesday.
I have always thought he is a poor keeper. Is it just me? I must be wrong if Barca want him.
you’re not; Krul is way better.
