Ajax coach Frank de Boer has confirmed that the club hope to sign Groningen striker Richairo Zivkovic.

The Eredivisie champions have been locked in negotiations with Groningen over the highly rated forward, and are reportedly close to sealing a deal to bring Zivkovic to Amsterdam in the summer.
Zivkovic made his debut for Groningen last season, at the age of 16, and has now netted five goals for the club in 25 appearances. Ajax coach Frank de Boer believes a move to the Amsterdam Arena will develop the youngster even further.
De Boer told VI, “Zivkovic is a very talented guy.He would be a good player for Ajax.”
“He has all the qualities to be a good striker and additionally has been accustomed to Eredivisie football. With us, he can make more steps, for example with the aid of Dennis Bergkamp. ”
Kolbeinn Sigthorsson is the only recognised centre forward playing for Ajax, but the Icelandic international has failed to impress since joining from AZ in 2011.
